I'm sure there's some kind of irony in a "happy new year" 2 weeks into February . . . .

The good news is that it's a new season, and I've only missed the first 2 events.  It's going to be a banner year.

But in happier news, most of the work needed on the car is fabrication related -- it's stuff that's truly custom, or is "out there" stuff that nobody else wants to take the time to build.  Good example of this is the ignition replacement that I've been working on.  On it's own, the C5 ignition is a fiasco -- trip this, then wait, then energize these circuits, then stand on your head and recite the alphabet backwards 7 times.  It's no wonder that the real racers completely tear out the PCM for aftermarket, and the marginally serious completely leave the whole thing alone.

So clearly, I do neither.  (no surprise)

Amazingly, version 1 worked pretty well. (surprise)

Minor revisions, and it's nearly bulletproof.  (double surprise)

More details as it's complete . . . I'm looking at turning this into a fairly low-cost plug-in replacement for those who want to simplify things (Ha!) without spending a mint on a DFI Accel.
